If someone provides a detailed, convincing solution that solves the above problem, I will try to reclaim my now abandoned Magic Mouse, validate the solution, and gladly accept the answer.
Magicprefs for magic mouse 2 how to#
I had been using BetterTouchTool version 0.9985 (as stated above) How to use Apples Magic Trackpad in ArchiCAD Many users would like to use.

System specs: Macbook Pro Retina, Magic Mouse, OS X 10.9.5 (Mavericks), BTT 0.9985 Using it with AP and AD can be a royal pain in the butt (not Affinity's issue but Apple's), but the mouse is so good apart from this issue that I don't want to swap it for anything else. What else can I try, i.e., what other tools can I use or what other system settings can I change (via Terminal) to make it work? I know there has been a lot of talk, not only on the Affinity Forum but also in general online about the over sensitivity of Apple's Magic Mouse.

Autocad recognizes it as pan if you click hard, and hear the 'click' tone from magic mouse. Set two fingers click (i prefer that) as middle click. I also already tried to map (globally) single finger swipes and scroll actions in Better Touch Tool (BTT) to No Action. AutoCad does not recognize the middle click. From their website: MagicPrefs is a free application for OS X which aims to improve the functionality and configuration options of the Apple Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad and the MacBook glass trackpad. Preferences > Mouse > More Gestures > Swipe Between Pages (two fingers) does not help. MagicPrefs seems like the only solution currently available to enable a third button on a Magic Mouse. I would like to make the swiping more explicit by allowing only two finger swipes, which should then just work as vertical/horizontal scroll gestures, as if I had triggered them on a normal mouse (with 2 scroll wheels).
Magicprefs for magic mouse 2 for free#
Plugins are either bundled-in for free, can be downladed for free or come from paid. They run under a shared plugins host process which translates into more control for the user and less processes. I have the old pro keyboard and mouse, wired and wireless keyboards, Magic Mouse 1 & 2, Mighty Mouse, Magic Trackpad (got that one free). Might need to get the track pad, the only reason I use the MM2 is so I can get gestures. Though you can customise it using magicprefs. Especially in X11/Inkscape, if I work zoomed in on a big canvas, this often moves my canvas several screens to the right or left and I have to carefully swipe/scroll back to my original view. Plugins are modular components that can extend the functionality of MagicPrefs, they can be enabled or disabled individually. Using it now I actually think it is not the surface area that is the issue but the height. Buy APPLE Magic Mouse 2 Wireless Laser Mouse with Bluetooth only for Rs.

I sometimes accidentally trigger the horizontal swipe/scroll gesture on my magic mouse.
